前幾天高雄大寮監獄發生了震驚國人的劫獄(prison escape or prison break)事件，雖然後來並未造成任何無辜人質傷亡，但六名囚犯卻自殺身亡，令人不勝唏噓，快來用英語了解國際間的重大劫獄事件吧!
Sarposa Prison attack
a raid on the Kandahar detention facility in Kandahar, Afghanistan by Taliban insurgents on June 13, 2008. One of the largest attacks by Afghan insurgents, the raid freed 400-1000 prisoners.
2008年6月13日位於阿富汗坎大哈市的監獄遭到塔利班突襲，是阿富汗有史以來最嚴重的劫獄事件，共有約400~1000名囚犯脫逃。
On July 27, 2013, 1,000 inmates escaped from the Queyfiya prison near Benghazi, Libya. The escape occurred after a wave of political assassinations and attacks on political offices around the country. Local residents of Benghazi forced the inmates out of the prison.
2013年7月27日，1000名受刑人從利比亞班加西市一間監獄脫逃，在這起事件發生不久前，政治暗殺的浪潮和攻擊正在國內蔓延。當地居民為釋放囚犯的罪魁禍首。
On June 8, 2014, Robert Elbryan, 42, Joe Game, 53, and George Broussard, 63, escaped from a Quebec Detention Center with help from a helicopter. The three men were arrested a couple weeks later and returned to the same facility from which they previously escaped.
2014年6月8日三名分別42歲、53歲及63歲的囚犯利用直升機，自加拿大魁北克省拘留所脫逃。幾個禮拜後三名罪犯依然被逮捕，並回到原先的拘留所。
On September 11, 2014, T.J Lane, 19, a remorseless killer serving three life sentences for indiscriminately killing fellow students at his Ohio high school in 2012, and Clifford E. Opperud, 45, escaped Allen Correctional Institution. Rodney was apprehended about 5 hours after his escape while Opperud was captured about 8 hours after his escape.
2014年9月11日，一名因無差別砍殺同儕而被判三次死刑的殘忍殺人犯，偕同45歲的囚犯逃離行為矯正機構。兩名犯人分別在脫逃後5小時及8小時後被捕。
2015/02/07 Three women turned up to prison in skimpy lingerie and police costumes. They convinced wardens to let them enter by saying they wanted an orgy. Prison officers were drugged with ‘spiked whiskey’ and then handcuffed 28 prisoners escaped, including the boyfriend of one of the temptresses. The prison guards will be charged with ‘facilitating a jailbreak’, police say Eight inmates have been recaptured and returned to the Nova Mutum jail.
2015年2月7號巴西三名女囚犯穿著輕薄的內衣及警察制服試圖色誘獄警，她們以迷藥迷昏獄警後將他們上銬。之後，三名女囚犯協助28名罪犯脫逃，這其中包含一名女罪犯的男友。該監獄獄警被以瀆職起訴，八名逃犯已被逮捕並遣送回獄中。
