1.常見的辦公室用語
1.Stay on top of–勉強趕的上進度，但又不致落後
如果您的工作量一職以來都大、又不見得做的完，但是你能夠維持工作的平衡，感的上進度、但又不會落後的情況，我們可以用stay on top of 這句片語喔!
I always stay on top of my work as a result I ‘m seldom scold by my boss. (我總是趕得上工作進度，但又不會落後，所以很少被我老闆罵。)
2.Get the ball rolling–著手開始
如果想要表達企劃正要開始執行、或是著手開始，這時你可以大聲說出 get the ball rolling這句片語喔!但如果想要表達持續進行時，可以改成用keep the ball rolling! 而這句話也常被多益考試給考到喔!
Let’s get the ball rolling on this project. (讓我們開始這項計畫吧!)
3.Think outside the box-思想出框、跳脫思想
大家口中常常說的，思考要出框的英文也就是這句! 而企業老闆、演說家、創業家也很常用這句話~所以下次如果想要請別人發揮創意、或是要別人發揮出特色，就可以用這句片語。
In order to win the contest, we have to think outside the box. (為了贏得比賽的勝利，我們必須想點不一樣的!)
4.Bite off more than you can chew–工作量太大
在工作上，如果想要表達你承攬了太多工作量，因而吃不消時，就可以用這句話來形容喔!
He works late everyday. He may bites off more than he can chew. (他每天都工作到很晚，他可能真的承攬太多工作了)
5.ballpark figure –粗略的數字
這個字常用來表達粗略的數字、數量、估計的數字，就會用這個字來形容，然而在多數口語中，可能還會省略掉figure喔!
Just give me a ballpark figure of revenue from this project. (就給我這份計畫粗略的收益數字就可)
6.Lay- off 裁員、開除
Lay off 也就是裁員、開除的意思，可以常常在英文新聞裡頭見到，而downsize/fire/dismissal/expelled等字也可用來表達開除的意思。
Because of his bad work, he was expelled from the boss.
➡Because of his bad work, he was dismissal from the boss.
➡Because of his bad work, he was expelled from the boss.
➡Because of his bad work, he was lay-off from the boss. (因為她的工作表現不佳，所以她被老闆解雇了。)
7.work (in) shifts. 輪班工作
如果你想要表達你的工作是輪班性質時，就可以說work in shifts，而早班、晚班、夜班的英文也分別就是morning shift/night shift/ graveyard shift ! ，同樣的，如果要表答你要連續擲兩段班，就可說double shift!
I’m work in shifts and we usually the graveyard shift or double shifts. (我是輪班工作的，而且通常做大夜班或是值兩班。)
